CRUFTS 2008
I would like to thank those who entered under me at Crufts. It was an honour & a pleasure to judge at this prestigious show. A large entry of 83 surely bodes well for the future of the Dandie.
In the younger classes, I was surprised & disappointed how many front feet were not straight, & there were too many level front teeth throughout the entry. Tailset & carriage need to be watched in future breeding. A tail carried too high really spoils the unique outline of the Dandie.
Back movement has certainly improved over the last ten years. There were a lot of novice handlers to whom I wish good luck. They did well. There are still a huge variety of types in the breed, some of which are not true to the Standard. What needs striving for is consistency combined with quality. I was delighted with my main winners who were lovely examples of the breed.
VD (3) 1 MacInnes’ Ch Glencobo Wrekin Lad at Bettymac, looking good & happy at 9½ years old. Beautiful head & neck set into well set shoulders, correct shape body, well muscled legs.
