The Caledonian Dandie Dinmont Terrier Club held its championship show on 2 November at the Tait Hall in Kelso, this was the last show to qualify for Crufts and the last club show of 2008.
The drive along the A7 is always a joy with the bright crisp autumn dawn breaking through the trees, the weather was a little fresh, -2 in Kelso, bit much for us southerners who aren't used to being cold so early on in the year !
The atmosphere was good and visitors were abundant. The sponsors this year were Burns, who had a stand to greet everyone in the entrance on arrival, they were very generous in as much as everyone including visitors had a gift to take home with them.
John Charlton was dressed as Dandie Dinmont, fresh from his tour of the town on the Saturday and generated great interest amongst exhibitors and visitors alike.
Kate Irving ( Kennel Dandyhow ) officiated and she found her DCC again in Ch Inzievar Silver Gilt, RDCC Beverly Deacon's AM Ch Pennywise Burning Ambition for Cassencarrie, BCC and BIS Thomas Cameron's Ch Inzievar Silver Bonnet, RBCC Gill Mannia's Ch Wazzly Persephone at Kirskill and BPIS Glen Tinsley and Mike MacBeth's Hendell Tom Smart at Cloverwood.
Well it was homeward by mid afternoon, still a lovely journey along the A7 through the fading light and autumn colours...is it me or is the road longer going home ?
